Welcoming Blake Randall to the family

Clearly, I'm not the best blogger, seeing how it's been nearly two years since my last post. But now that our family has a new addition, we certainly have plenty to share, so I'm giving this blogging thing another shot.

The Hamlin family welcomed Blake Randall to our clan on June 6, 2013. He was born at 8:24 p.m., and weighed in at 8 pounds, 21.5 inches. He didn't waste any time making his entrance into the world. I started having contractions at work earlier that afternoon; we checked into the hospital at 6:30 p.m. and I was already 6 cm dilated––he was born just a couple hours later.

Blake has been one happy little guy and we've enjoyed getting to know him. Big sister Kenley is proud and is very sweet to her baby brother. So far she hasn't shown any signs of jealousy or wanting him to go away––we're keeping our fingers crossed that it stays that way!

When Blake was about a week old, we had newborn photos taken by local photographer Sugar Six Photography. Samantha was fabulous and really knew how to work well with our little babes. She kept a high energy toddler entertained and also got some amazing shots of a sleepy, happy Blake, thanks in large part to "Mr. Heater" the space heater. We're very happy with the results!

So here we are, embarking on our next adventure as a family of four. I will do my darndest to be a better blogger and keep you up-to-date on the little moments happening with our family. Thanks for reading!
